“这一生,我能与艺术创作相遇，并以它作为终生志业，可说是一件‘绝处逢生’的幸运事”。此为画家黎农生发自内心的肺腑之言。黎农生，1944年诞生于雪兰莪叻思小镇。由于家境穷困，当他有机会进入正规美术学院就读时，已是一位进入职场的24岁青年。今年欣逢人生七十，艺术创作伴随了他半个世纪的人生。他50年如一日，踏实的奔驰于艺术创作的大道上，艺术创作已成为他人生的一种精神修炼。黎氏对自己有严厉的要求，除了强调在绘画技术上的掌控与淳熟，他更重视思想与内涵的提升。他从不为讨好众人眼目而创作，而是忠于生命奥底的真情流露，以至树立了具有强烈个性和富含表现主义的艺术内涵。他的创作泉源，来自人生的经历与对世间一切事物的观察与思考。他的画给予世人诸多提醒与反思，因为他道出了人与自然、人与世间的不二关系。欣赏他的作品，犹如阅读他的人生思路，从中体会他对人性与生命的关爱与重视。
此次个展将展示他从60年代开始创作至今的水墨画、油画、版画和速写作品，愿大家一同来欣赏他独具一格的艺术世界，走一趟感悟生命与时空的艺术之旅！

“I feel fortunate to have encountered art and to make it my lifelong vocation. I feel fortunate as art has saved me from desperation.” These are the heartfelt words of Lai Loong Sung. Lai Loong Sung was born in 1944, in Rasa town, Selangor. He came from a poor family. He was already working at the age of 24 when he took up formal training at a school of fine arts. Now that he is seventy years old, artistic work has accompanied him for half a century. He persisted on the path of art creation, and it has become his life-long spiritual enhancement.
He is strict with himself when it comes to art creation. Painting skills is not his only concern, as he emphasises the development of his inner thoughts and meaning in his artworks. He never paints to please anyone. Instead, he upholds the principle to be true to his inner feelings, thereby establishing a strong personality and a unique style. His creative inspiration is derived from his life experience and his attention to current affairs of the world. His artworks depict the inseparable relationship between human beings and nature, and the society, that make one ponders and awakens to it. Appreciating his artworks is synonymous to studying his philosophy of life, realising his concern for the relationship between human and life.
In this exhibition, Lai Loong Sung will exhibit his works since 1960s, comprising of ink paintings, oil paintings, prints and sketches. Please join us in exploring his world of art. Let’s take a trip to discover our Heart and Soul through Time and Space.
